This conference, co-sponsored by

Illinois Catholic Health
Association, and the
Neiswanger Institute for
Bioethics and Health Policy, Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of
Medicine
will bring together a diverse body of scholars
and experts to discuss moral, social and clinical foundations of Catholic
healthcare ethics, to apply conceptual resources to current problems, and to
confront moral challenges on the horizon for Catholic healthcare providers.
We
will offer ongoing ethics education through targeted and pertinent
presentations for a variety of professionals in Catholic healthcare,
including but not limited to:

Our
annual
Contemporary Catholic
Healthcare Ethics Conference
offers a unique and collegial venue for healthcare providers to
acquire practical and theoretical resources for improving the
delivery of Catholic healthcare in our contemporary and varied
settings.
Conference Objectives:
After participating in this
conference, persons should be able to:

Discuss the theological, social and legal
foundations pertinent to Catholic healthcare ethics in our contemporary
context.

Analyze the
Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Healthcare Services and
interpret their meaning for ethical issues arising in healthcare.

Identify and describe clinical, social and global concerns
pertinent to the delivery of Catholic
healthcare in our contemporary context.

The 8th Annual Contemporary Catholic Healthcare Ethics:
Conference, will be held at the Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola
University Chicago, 2160 S. First Avenue, Bldg 120, Maywood, IL, 60153.
Parking will be available in Visitor’s Parking Lot 4.
A block of guest
rooms has been reserved at the Carleton Hotel of Oak Park, 1110
Pleasant Street, Oak Park, IL 60302. To make your reservation,
contact the hotel directly at 708-848-5000 or 888-227-5386 to receive
the negotiated rate of $148 for single rooms, $168 for double rooms.
Your reservation must be received by September 10, 2009. Be
sure to mention Group #1254 when reserving your room.
Shuttle bus services will be provided from hotel to conference site.
Air Travel:
For all travel arrangements, please call CHA’s travel provider, American
Express, at 314-253-3442, or email your request to travel@chausa.org
and identify yourself as a “Catholic Healthcare Ethics” attendee.
Registrants who purchase restrictive airfares are responsible for all
penalties.

Cancellation:

by fax, 708-327-9209. To qualify for refund, minus a $25
processing fee, your cancellation must be in
writing
and received no later than September 18, 2009. Cancellation
requests must be in writing (via fax or email) in order to process a
refund. There is no charge for sending a substitute.
Loyola and CHA reserve the right to change speakers or modify program
content.
